TRUST FUND IN SUPPORT OF ACTIONS TO ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (EVAW)

The Trust Fund in Support of Actions to Eliminate Violence Against Women was established at UNIFEM in 1996 by a UN General Assembly resolution. The Trust Fund is an important and strategic part of UNIFEM's work to eliminate violence against women. The primary goal of the Trust Fund is to identify and support local, national, regional and international initiatives to prevent and eliminate violence against women.

This UNIFEM publication demonstrates the power of collective action in ending violence against women. It highlights initiatives in seven countries and shows how women's organizations can work together with judicial and law enforcement systems, community and youth groups, policy-makers and international organizations to end gender-based violence.
