UN Trust Fund in Support of Actions to
Eliminate Violence against Women
Call for Proposals 2007
Countries: Cambodia and Lao PDR only
The UN Trust Fund in Support of Actions to Eliminate Violence against Women invites proposals from NGOs, Governments and other Civil Society Groups. The Fund was established by General Assembly resolution 50/166 in 1996 and is managed by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM.).
This year an Inter-Agency Programme Appraisal Committee comprising of UNDP, UNESCAP, UNAIDS, UNIFEM and the Foundation for Women -- Thailand will oversee the selection process of the proposals submitted for the Fund in the East and South-East Asia Region. The 2007 Call for Proposals in the Region is open for proposals from Cambodia and Lao PDR only. The deadline for this year’s submission of proposals in the East and South-East Asia Region is 27th August 2007.
The 2007 Trust Fund Call is open for proposals in the following thematic areas:
- Supporting the implementation of existing laws, policies and plans of action to end violence against women at national levels. (Organizations can submit projects for up to three years in duration with budgets between US$ 100,000 - US$ 300,000)
- Reducing the twin pandemics of HIV and AIDS and violence against women. (Organizations can submit projects for up to three years in duration with budgets between US$ 100,000 – US$ 150,000)
